Dad Doesn’t Invite Daughter’s Bully To Birthday Party and The Mum Is Not Happy!

As parents we always try to teach our kids compassion and empathy but what happens when they’re on the receiving end of some nasty bullying? Should we encourage them to invite the bully to their birthday party or is it okay to exclude them?

One dad asked this same question to Reddit where he wondered if he was doing the wrong thing. His seven year old daughter had just come into his life a year before and now he’s solo parenting as the mum is out of the picture. Being new to parenting he questioned whether he should’ve invited his daughter’s bully to her birthday party or whether he was justified in excluding him.

You see, the reason for his confusion, is because the bully’s mother approached him saying she was not happy with the fact her son was excluded when nearly all of the class had been invited to the party. She went on to say that it would’ve been the perfect opportunity for the kids to patch things up between them and to practice compassion.

Was the mother justified in asking for her son’s inclusion. Commenters sided with the dad saying he had nothing to worry about and that his daughter’s feelings of safety and comfort came first.
