Kmart Release New Range Of Dolls With Disabilities
Kmart’s new range of inclusive dolls with disabilities are sure to put a smile on many children today. The retail giant’s latest assortment of Fashion Dolls come with a range of disabilities and impairments including a doll that uses a wheelchair, dolls with a vision or hearing impairment as well as one with a prosthetic leg.
“We want all of our customers, especially our littlest ones, to be able to find products that they can truly relate to; and we’re committed to championing inclusion and diversity to make sure this happens,” said John Gualtieri, Kmart Retail Director Australia & New Zealand.
“That’s why we’re so excited to introduce our newest assortment of Fashion Dolls, which reflect people living with disabilities.
We hope these dolls help children celebrate all of the wonderful things that make us different and unique; and that they can help remove some of the stigma around disability.
We’ve dressed them in trendy outfits and named them ‘Fashion Dolls,’ to show they are just like their able-bodied friends.”
On Kmart Mums Australia Facebook page, a very happy mum shared photos of her five-year-old boy Harlen who is over the moon with his new doll!
“Kmart absolutely killing it with the new range of inclusive dolls,” Emma wrote on Kmart Mums Australia. “It is so important that kids with disabilities are represented in TV, books and toys. It’s equally important their typical developing peers have exposure to these things. It empowers kids to celebrate ability! One super happy boy this afternoon.”
How fantastic of you Kmart. As if we needed another reason to love you! Thank you, from all the happy children who can finally identify with a Fashion Doll today.
