Minister Ruins a Wedding Ceremony to Shout at Photographers Leaving Bride and Groom Shocked
Planning the perfect wedding involves paying attention to the tiniest details, ensuring that everything planned goes smoothly and as intended. You can micromanage the finer points as much as you like, but you can’t control the actions of others no matter how carefully you’ve planned your event, as this rude minister has demonstrated.
A video has resurfaced of an angry church minister ruining a wedding ceremony by loudly berating the wedding photographer, leaving the poor bride and groom speechless.
The clip captures the moment that the clergyman turns away from horrified bride Noelle Borriello and her fiancé Rob Ruehle to tell the photographers they have to move.
“Please, sirs, leave,” demands the angry priest as the couple look on in shock.
When the photographer asks him where he would like them to go, the priest responds: “Anywhere other than here. This is a solemn assembly, not a photography session. Please move or I will stop. I will stop the ceremony if you do not get out of the way.
“This is not about photography, this is about God.”
Here’s a hot tip for old Mr Surly Pants: you just did stop the ceremony. And now instead of it being about God, it’s all about you!
“I had no idea why he snapped like that,” photographer Kamrul Hasan told the Daily Mail. I didn’t want their wedding day to be ruined, so I looked at the bride and groom and I moved to the right.
“At that moment bride and groom were horrified, including the wedding party and all guests.”
“We were both just shocked,” the bride said. “I thought to myself what is he doing? Rob was shocked also but more concerned about how I felt which is why he looked over to me. He knew how much a religious ceremony meant to me.”
She said that after the ceremony ended the priest tried to smooth things over with her and her new husband.
“[He] explained that he sees a lot of nervous young couples that get distracted by the photography and he wanted to prevent that. In this case, though, Rob and I were so in the moment we didn’t even notice the camera noises.”
Happily, all was well that ended well, with the incident becoming a talking point throughout the evening.
“We were able to laugh about it right away as the bridal party immediately started making jokes and comments about it once the ceremony ended. It became a topic of conversation throughout the night,” she said.
If this grumpy minister really felt it was so important that the photography was kept to a minimum throughout the ceremony, he should have told the couple beforehand so they could choose someone else to perform the ceremony.
Someone with a little self-awareness and no anger issues, perhaps.
