Neighbours Use Signs In Windows To Communicate Information About Their Cats!

Being in a coronavirus-induced lockdown means people have had to get creative in finding ways to stay connected. One neighbourhood has been communicating with each other through signs placed in their windows asking questions about their pet cats.

Now let’s be honest, if there’s one thing that’s guaranteed to bring people together, it’s cats right? Apparently cat memes are the most searched for item on the internet after ‘Is the Tiger King’s mullet real?’ So this novel way of staying connected was always going to be a winner!

Sian Cosgrove from Leeds, United Kingdom, was one of the people who took part in the window sign discussions. It seems she wanted to know more about the kitty she could see in the window across the house from hers. “We are working from home now so we are pretty much completely in the house (aside from food shops, etc),” Cosgrove told Bored Panda. “It was very strange at first but now we’re getting used to it!”

“We saw the cat sitting in the window opposite our house pretty much every day but we didn’t know his name,” she continued. “There are loads of cats in the area and we know most of their names but didn’t know this cat’s name, so I asked!”

Before long, Cosgrove says more people in the neighbourhood were taking part in daily catch ups via the window. In fact, she was surprised at just how quickly the responses came in.  “Our gardens back onto each other so we don’t even live on the same street,” she explained. “They responded really quickly, within minutes! I wasn’t sure they’d reply at all so it was really funny that they came back to me so fast.”

How amazing is this? What an ingenious way to stay in contact and entertained while in self isolation. Have you seen anything like this where you live? We’d love to hear it!
