The Queen Has Called An Emergency Meeting At Buckingham Palace And The Buckingham Palace And The Internet Has Gone Into Meltdown!
Queen Elizabeth II summoned her entire staff from across the UK for an emergency meeting at Buckingham Palace sparking concern and curiosity across the globe!
The meeting, which is due to take place in the morning (London time) was called in the middle of the night and servants are set to be addressed by the Royal Household’s most senior officer Lord Chamberlain and her Majesty’s Private Secretary Sir Christopher Geidt.
Rumours are running rampant with many thinking something is wrong with the Queen’s 95 year old husband Prince Philip. Even the Royal’s most senior aides have been kept in the dark about the announcement.
Social media has been on fire since reports surfaced of the emergency meeting with many taking to twitter to offer their opinions and to stay informed.
“What’s with the Royal staff emergency meeting at Buckingham Palace at the eleventh hour then? I’m curious…. balmoral – Scotland called bk,” one person said on Twitter.
“Constantly refreshing my feed for updates #buckinghampalace,” another person said.
“#Buckinghampalace something is happening. Staff called in for emergency meeting.”
The Daily Mail said it’s “highly unusual” for all staff to be called to Buckingham Palace on such short notice. “Although meetings involving the entire royal household are occasionally called, the way this has been done at the eleventh hour is highly unusual and suggests that there is something major to be disseminated.”
Concerns for both the Queen, 91 and her husband were raised last year when they both missed Christmas mass for the first time as they were both suffering from a serious cold.
The Queen has just returned to Buckingham Palace from an extended visit to Windsor over Easter and Prince Philip was seen yesterday when he opened the new Warner Stand at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Buckingham Palace is yet to comment.
