Toddler Puts $1000 Cash Through His Parent’s Shredder!
Every parent has their own horror story involving their young child. Whether it be drawing with texta on freshly painted walls or emptying out the contents of the pantry onto the floor, kids will always get up to mischief.
One story we’ve never come across though is of a toddler shredding his parent’s hard earned money. Until now that is!
Ben Benlap and his wife from Salt Lake City, Utah didn’t know whether to laugh or cry after discovering their young son Leo had put an envelope containing $1000 through the shredder. Yep, you heard correctly…$1000…gone…shredded!
Ben and his wife had been saving up to repay Ben’s parents for buying them season tickets for the University of Utah football season.
“As devastated and as sick as we were, this was one of those moments where you just have to laugh,” Ms Belnap told a US television station.
The mum went on to reveal that her young son often helped with shredding mail and loved the sound the machine made.
“Most people they say, ‘Oh, a kid drew crayon on the wall’ or something. I’ve never heard of a kid shredding a grand,” Leo’s father said of the money they had been saving for a year.
Luckily for the family the US Department of Treasury has confirmed that they be eligible to get all their money back. If I were them I would get rid of the shredder immediately!
