The Gift of ‘Me Time’: How You Can Help Mums Recharge This Mother’s Day

Sponsored post

For the mums who need a little ‘me time’, Mother’s Day is the perfect chance to hit pause, even just for a moment and soak up some well-deserved peace and quiet.

This year, let’s go beyond flowers and chocolates (though we’ll never say no to those) and give the gift that keeps on giving: much needed time to breathe, relax, and maybe even finish a coffee!

Here are a few simple (and much appreciated) ways to give the gift of ‘Mother’s Day Me Time’:

  1. Brekkie in bed: Start the day right — with food! Whether it’s toast and tea or a cafe-style spread, it’s not about fancy, it’s about us getting to enjoy it without having to wrangle small humans mid-bite.
  2. Handmade cards (aka mini masterpieces): While we’re enjoying our breakfast moment, let the kids get crafty. Think glitter, glue, and lots of “I love you, Mum” scribbles. Encourage kids to write the cards themselves to make it extra special for mum – it’s a great way to sneak in some spelling practice as well (Bonus tip: get the kids to brush up on their spelling using Reading Eggs!). It buys you some quiet time points and makes us teary in the best way.
  3. Fresh air (and solo couch time for us): Take the kids out for a walk, to the park, or the beach. Let us put our feet up, binge-watch something with zero interruptions, or just enjoy the bliss of a quiet house.
  4. A meal without the mental load: Cook up something special or just take the reins on food duties for the day. Restaurant outing? Even better. The goal: no decisions, no dishes, just dinner.
  5. Make screen time valuable: While you are busy making Mother’s Day one to remember, if you do need to give the kids some screen time – make it count by encouraging them to spend time on Reading Eggs so they can learn while having fun online.

As much as we love the chaos of family life, sometimes what we really need is a little space to recharge. A nap, a bubble bath, or reading without having to re-read the same page five times? Yes please.

So, for all the mums who just need a breather — this one’s for you. Let’s make this Mother’s Day feel like a warm hug, a deep breath, and a whole lot of love.

With love,
All the Mums xx
