Woman Says Her Parents Chose Not To Attend Her Wedding Rather Than Get Vaccinated
A couple have decided not to attend their daughter’s wedding as they preferred not to get vaccinated. Understandably, the bride is devastated!
Amy shared her story on Twitter, where she said her parents wouldn’t be attending her wedding as they refused to get vaccinated against COVID.
“My parents are choosing not to attend my wedding rather than be vaccinated,” she wrote. Amy explained that she asked that all her wedding guests be vaccinated “in order to attend my wedding in the midst of a pandemic inside a restaurant”.
my parents just told me they are choosing to not attend my wedding rather than be vaccinated and AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Amy however said that while she was devastated by their decision her relationship with them hadn’t been “severed” by the incident. Twitter users weren’t quite so forgiving.
“I can’t imagine the pain you must feel that these ridiculous conspiracy theories are more important to them than honouring their child at their wedding,” one person wrote.
“I’m so sorry this has happened, I hope your day is still special,” someone else wrote.
One person even offered to step in and fill the mum’s shoes.
“Do you need a mother of the bride? I am available. I promise to praise you, provide support to your bridesmaids, wear a dress in the right colour, and cry at the appropriate times,” she offered.
“If you want a vaccinated mum and dad stand-in, my husband and I will be happy to be there to be happy for you. My daughter loans us out all the time to her friends who have parents who are…um…not like us,” another mum offered.
Amy followed up the initial tweet by thanking everyone and said she was ” focusing on accepting what I can’t change and surrounding myself and my significant other with (heart emoji).”
