Pyjama Jamming With Justine Clarke on Her New Tour

Justine Clarke is so popular in our household that you’d think she was a favourite aunty! Her catchy tunes get our house jumping. And, this October and November you can jump too with Justine Clarke’s national Pyjama Jam! Tour in metro cities.

In line with her much anticipated, October released, fifth studio album Pyjama Jam, the Pyjama Jam! tour will see Justine returning to more intimate venues around Australia, creating the perfect comfy and cozy atmosphere for a Pyjama party.

JustineClarke_MarkRogers-129_1mbAt this live and intimate show children are encouraged to wear their PJ’s and bring their favourite cuddly toy. I wonder if adults can too?!

In this pared back, live and intimate show, Justine will bring her charming and wholesome brand of performance and live music to families; singing both familiar favourites and new material from her new album, with titles like Pyjamas and Shufflin’ Off To Bed. This is a getting-ready-for-bed album for the whole family to sing and dance along with.

To get us ready for Justine’s tour, we were lucky enough to ask her a few questions about performing and her life as an entertainer.

What is the best thing about performing for young people?
They are balls of energy, ready to have the best time they possibly can. And they’re very happy to be involved in the show in any way they can.  I find the child audiences hilarious and utterly delightful!

Being a mum of three, how important is engaging in educational play with them?
I believe all play is inherently educational. There are times where we have more structured play to support an area of learning such as playing word games and that’s been beneficial for all our kids. But they are all so different, I find that my youngest needs more structure around physical games than the others do, but he needs no encouragement with imaginative play at all.

Do you think your children will become entertainers?
We were talking about this just today! Maybe 1 of them at this stage but it’s really hard to know. Hopefully when they finish school they will have lots of choice and be ready to decide then what’s right for them.

How do you balance family and work and travel?
The nature of my work means that no 2 weeks are ever the same so we are constantly talking logistics. Family time is our top priority, dinner is very important in our home. We have many calendars!!  Travel as a family often gets shoved down the list so we really have to work on that to make sure we carve out time for us all to get away together.

Fiona Dorman founded The Part Time People in 2012 as she saw a lack of adequate information for non-9to5 workers looking for work and ways to change their lives through study. The Part Time People knows that when you are a parent your life becomes full of new commitments on top of work, life, family, study and everything else we need to pack in to 24 hours! TPTP works together with the Mum Media Group to bring together information for parents looking to return to work. With focus on four areas; Return to work, Start Your Own Business, Work From Home and Upskilling, there is information for everyone. As a mother of two young boys, William 2.5yrs and Sam 5 months, Fiona knows the challenges with juggling work, family and home and strives to bring the best information we can to help parents get to the working scenario they want.
