Ecovacs DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni Review: A Smarter Way to Clean

If you’re not delegating your floor cleaning to a robot and reclaiming your time in the process, you’re missing out on one of life’s more underrated pleasures. Robot vacuums have quietly gone from novelty to near-essential, but not all of them truly deliver on the promise of less effort and more free time. That’s where the Ecovacs DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni comes in. Positioned as a premium, all-in-one cleaning system, it’s designed to take care of both vacuuming and mopping with minimal input—so the real question is whether it actually lives up to that promise in a busy, home with both kids and pets.

First Impressions and Setup

Getting started is refreshingly simple. As soon as you power it on, the robot talks you through each step in a clear, easy-to-follow way, and there’s also a quick-start card included if you prefer a visual guide. It’s the kind of setup process that doesn’t require much thinking—which, as it turns out, is a good thing.

Case in point: I managed to pour clean water into the dirty water tank on my first attempt. Fortunately, the robot immediately refused to proceed until the correct tank was filled, which made the mistake obvious pretty quickly. So yes, we can confidently say—it’s pretty much idiot-proof.

Design That Actually Blends In

One of the standout elements is the Nordic-inspired, minimalist design. The base station has a soft, fabric-like finish and a clean, monochromatic look that helps it blend into your home rather than stick out like a bulky appliance.

It’s also noticeably more compact than some other all-in-one stations on the market, which makes a difference if you’re trying to keep things feeling uncluttered. Less obtrusive, more intentional.

Living with Pets? This Is Where the Ecovacs DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni Shines

The T90 Pro Omni is marketed as the ultimate pet-friendly cleaning companion, and in a home with two dogs and a cat, it definitely had its work cut out. Pet hair, tracked-in dirt, the usual chaos—it handled it all with very little fuss.

A big part of that comes down to Ecovacs’ ZeroTangle 4.0 technology. The brush design and airflow system work together to capture hair without it wrapping around the roller, which means less time spent cutting tangled fur out of the brush (a task no one enjoys).

Gizmo lost interest in the DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni after deciding the new nook was too small for him!

It’s also surprisingly quiet. Aside from the occasional voice update telling you what it’s doing, it goes about its business without disturbing pets—or people. In my case, the animals were completely unbothered by it.

Smart Mapping and Hands-Off Cleaning

Once set up, the robot heads off to map your home, and this is where things start to feel properly “smart.” Using its AGENT YIKO AI-powered cleaning intelligence, it identifies rooms, floor types, and even pet zones, then automatically adjusts its cleaning plan, suction power, and water flow.

The result is a system that requires very little input once it’s up and running. You’re not constantly tweaking settings—it just figures things out and gets on with it.

You can also interact with it using voice commands (“Hi Yiko”), though this felt more like a novelty for me. It works well, but I found myself defaulting to the app instead. That said, if you’re into voice control, you’ll probably get more out of it than I did.

The Ecovacs DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni App Experience

The Ecovacs app is genuinely one of the better ones I’ve used. It’s intuitive, easy to navigate, and gives you a lot of control without feeling overwhelming.

From the app, you can:

  • Start, stop, or schedule cleaning sessions
  • View and edit maps of your home
  • Set no-go zones or specific room cleans
  • Adjust suction power and water flow
  • Choose between vacuum-only, vacuum-and-mop, or sequential cleaning modes
  • Track cleaning progress in real time
  • Monitor maintenance and component status

It strikes a nice balance between functionality and simplicity.

Mopping That Actually Feels Like Mopping

The real highlight here is the OZMO Roller 3.0 system. Instead of dragging a damp pad around, this uses a continuously rotating roller mop that actively scrubs your floors. It’s also significantly larger than previous versions—about 27cm—giving it much wider coverage with each pass.

What makes it particularly effective is the instant self-washing technology. As it cleans, the roller is constantly rinsed with fresh water, helping avoid that “dirty mop just spreading things around” problem. Combined with high-speed rotation (up to 200 RPM) and pressurised water delivered through multiple nozzles, it does a solid job lifting dirt, spills, and everyday grime.

The base station takes things further with hot water cleaning (up to 75°C), automatically washing the mop and flushing out dirty water to keep everything hygienic with minimal effort from you.

There’s also a built-in cleaning solution tank, which automatically dispenses the right amount into the system. It even comes with a 260ml sample bottle, which is a nice touch—not all brands include that. It removes the guesswork, especially when you’re topping things up.

Vacuuming Power and Overall Performance

On the vacuuming side, the T90 Pro Omni doesn’t hold back. With its upgraded BLAST technology, it delivers up to 30,000Pa suction power, backed by improved airflow and a longer-lasting EV-grade battery.

In real-world terms, that means it handles everything from fine dust to larger debris without struggling, on both hard floors and carpets. The pickup rate is excellent, especially in high-traffic areas.

It also keeps going when other robots might give up. Thanks to PowerBoost technology, it can quickly top up its battery during mop-washing cycles, allowing it to complete full-home cleans in a single run rather than stopping halfway through.

Getting Into Corners (and Over Obstacles)

Edge cleaning is another area where the Ecovacs DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni performs well. The TruEdge 3.0 system allows the roller to glide right along skirting boards and walls, adjusting in real time to clean edges more precisely without bumping or scratching furniture.

It’s also surprisingly capable when it comes to navigating your home. The TruePass 4-wheel-drive system helps it climb over thresholds and small steps (up to around 2.4cm for single steps), so it can move between different areas without getting stuck.

The Small Trade-Offs

No product is perfect, and there are a couple of limitations worth mentioning.

One that stood out is that you can’t set it to mop-only mode. If there’s a spill, you can’t just send it out for a quick mop—it has to vacuum as well, either simultaneously or beforehand. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it would be a useful option to have.

It also can’t completely replace a traditional vacuum and mop in tighter spaces. If you’ve got small bathrooms or awkward layouts (like narrow gaps between a toilet and the wall), it simply won’t fit. You’ll still need to handle those areas manually.

And while it skips features like built-in video or audio monitoring found in some competitors, that didn’t feel like a loss here. If anything, it keeps the focus on what actually matters—cleaning performance. Those extras can feel a bit gimmicky depending on how you use your devices.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Ecovacs DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni strikes a really nice balance between performance, usability, and thoughtful design. It’s powerful, genuinely low-maintenance, and smart enough to take a lot of the day-to-day cleaning off your plate.

At an Australian RRP of $2,299—available through retailers like Bing Lee, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Retravision, Amazon, and Ecovacs’ own website—it’s definitely an investment. But if you’ve got pets, a busy household, or just want to reclaim some time, it’s an investment that you won’t regret!

It won’t completely replace your manual cleaning tools—but it gets close enough that you won’t mind picking up the slack in the few places it can’t reach.
