It’s back to school time! Just as soon as we let out a collective sigh of relief, it hits us. Back to school for many of us means back to the dreaded task of making school lunches again. Groan.

Considering that what our children eat from their lunchboxes during the day at school or kinder, makes up over half of their daily requirements, it is easy to see that what we pack for them is equally as important as what we feed them for breakfast and dinner. A well balanced diet is not only important for their growth and development, it also improves concentration and ability to learn.

Navigating the supermarket aisles in search of healthy snacks is not always easy though and junk food is marketed directly at our little ones. Others of us have to be particularly careful what we give our children to eat due to allergies, sensitivity to certain food, additives etc.

In 2005, when one of their children developed severe allergies, two brothers created Artisse Organics as a result of their desire to feed their family nothing but the best quality food free from artificial additives, herbicides, pesticides, chemicals and genetically modified ingredients.

Artisse Organics Aribars are a guilt-free treat that you can feel good about packing in your child’s lunchbox. Made from the goodness of organic wholegrain brown rice Aribars are both delicious and nutrition, and they contain no nasties.

Jolene enjoys writing, sharing and connecting with other like-minded women online – it also gives her the perfect excuse to ignore Mount-Washmore until it threatens to bury her family in an avalanche of Skylander T-shirts and Frozen Pyjama pants. (No one ever knows where the matching top is!) Likes: Reading, cooking, sketching, dancing (preferably with a Sav Blanc in one hand), social media, and sitting down on a toilet seat that one of her children hasn’t dripped, splashed or sprayed on. Dislikes: Writing pretentious crap about herself in online bio’s and refereeing arguments amongst her offspring.
