Must-Have Safety App for Women & Children

safety4u24-7 app

safety4u24-7 appThis morning as I waded through the press releases in my email inbox with a hot coffee, looking for something, anything to inspire me (and thinking how I’d much rather be back in Queensland with the children lying beside the pool), I eventually came across something that did pique my interest.

Halle-bloody-llujah!

Aussie Dad Mark Kratzmann, deeply moved by the rape and murder of Jill Meagher so close to her own home last September, has developed an app (for both iphone and android) that enables the user to send a text message to a designated list of contacts alerting them to the fact that the person may be in trouble, with just one push of a button.

The Safety4u24-7 app not only tracks the user and sends their exact location, in the red help me mode, the phone’s camera is also activated, meaning that the live video feed also has the potential to assist police in finding offenders.

But of course, the Safety4u24-7 app has its use in a multitude of situations – everything from domestic violence and sexual assault to feeling unsafe in a public place and medical emergencies.

At just $2.99 I REALLY think that this app is an absolute must have for the whole family.

Jolene enjoys writing, sharing and connecting with other like-minded women online – it also gives her the perfect excuse to ignore Mount-Washmore until it threatens to bury her family in an avalanche of Skylander T-shirts and Frozen Pyjama pants. (No one ever knows where the matching top is!) Likes: Reading, cooking, sketching, dancing (preferably with a Sav Blanc in one hand), social media, and sitting down on a toilet seat that one of her children hasn’t dripped, splashed or sprayed on. Dislikes: Writing pretentious crap about herself in online bio’s and refereeing arguments amongst her offspring.
