Olympic Gold Medal Winner, Giaan Rooney Pregnant

A huge congratulations goes out to Giaan Rooney and hubby Sam Levett, as they announce news that they are expecting their first child. What a magical time! I was so excited when I found out I was pregnant let alone the news that we were to have two rather than one baby. So I do feel very happy and excited for them.

Did you do something special when announcing your pregnancy? My twins were born the same year that Angelina Jolie’s twins were and we did not get such coverage. Might have something to do with the fact that I am not a well-known actor? I know I am not a celebrity so no newspaper or news organisation covered my announcement or wondered when they would see a baby bump, but I do love hearing these stories. It is nice to have some feel good news don’t you think?

For those that don’t know Giaan Rooney is a former Olympic swimmer and currently a channel seven presenter. Husband Sam Levett is a helicopter pilot. They tied the knot in 2011 and now expecting their little buddle of joy soon. Giaan is 14 weeks pregnant and according to a News Ltd article she has not felt that unwell and all scans show all is well. Great news that all is well. Although I am a little jealous about her feeling well.

Don’t get me wrong, I think that it is great if you can be pregnant and feel great and well. However this did not happen to me. I got the worst morning sickness, or all day sickness as it should be called. I swelled up and did not have use of my hands and with a twin pregnancy I got bigger sooner and just felt so tired. Everyone deals with it differently and it is good news that she is having a good first pregnancy, it makes it much more joyful and happier all round. Just jealous really, what about you?
Did you get a lot of symptoms in your first pregnancy? Did you get morning sickness or were you the lucky chosen women that sailed through without it.

I just love hearing such lovely news, it is happy and exciting to be part of their news via the media. It brings a smile to my face that Giaan and Sam are having such a good time and I hope it continues.

Let us know what you did when you announced your first or subsequent pregnancies? What symptom did you get in pregnancy that others did not? Share and make us all jealous.

Jolene enjoys writing, sharing and connecting with other like-minded women online – it also gives her the perfect excuse to ignore Mount-Washmore until it threatens to bury her family in an avalanche of Skylander T-shirts and Frozen Pyjama pants. (No one ever knows where the matching top is!) Likes: Reading, cooking, sketching, dancing (preferably with a Sav Blanc in one hand), social media, and sitting down on a toilet seat that one of her children hasn’t dripped, splashed or sprayed on. Dislikes: Writing pretentious crap about herself in online bio’s and refereeing arguments amongst her offspring.
