Outrage After Milo Changes its Recipe

Milo lovers in New Zealand are up in arms after the changes were made to the iconic drink.  Many have taken to the Milo Facebook Page to share their disgust at the new flavour of their favourite drink, with one commenter posting:

“I don’t like the taste of the new Milo, it’s too malty. I have been drinking Milo twice a day for 52years. I will never drink it again. I am going to drink Jarrah Chocolate. So are my family.”

The change to Milo’s flavour have been caused by their decision to remove the vanilla flavouring from the product, resulting in an overpowering malt taste according to many fans.  Margaret Stuart, a spokesperson for Nestle, has thankfully stated that although there have been changes to the Australian recipe, none will have any effect on the taste, saying:

“We understand that many people don’t like changes being made to favourite products, so change is not made lightly, but these changes make a more nourishing drink.”

Ms Stuart advised that Vitamin D and extra B Vitamins have been added to the Milo recipes used both here and in New Zealand and Nestle has also made the move to source sustainable cocoa.
