There’s no denying the fact that parenting has changed over the years, but some of these vintage photos will leave you wondering WTF some people were thinking!
Kids of previous generations were left up to their own devices a lot more than our kids are today. I remember my parents telling me to be home before the street lights came on and never once asked where exactly I was going- and I was only 10! Parents weren’t as involved in their kid’s lives nor did they have any desire to be. It was enough that their offspring were healthy and well fed and everything else fell by the wayside. There were no mummy bloggers or websites giving them parenting tips. No, kids were free to go out of their safe environments and learn from their own mistakes.
Needless to say that style of parenting is very rare these days and judging by some of these photos, perhaps that isn’t such a bad thing!
