Woman’s Plastic Shopping Bag Hack Grosses Out The Internet

Woman’s Plastic Shopping Bag Hack Grosses Out The Internet

A woman has divided the internet by revealing her hack for when she forgets to bring bags to the supermarket. Her admission has left most customers pretty grossed out. We’re still on the fence with this one. What do you think?

Organisation expert Anita Birges shared her tip on Tiktok where she revealed what she does when she forgets her reusable shopping bags at home. She goes and helps herself to the plastic bag recycling bins located inside Woolworths stores. That’s where people leave their old and used bags and other soft plastic items for recycling.

“Here’s a little hack for you,” said Birge.

“I forgot my shopping bags today. So I came over to the recycling area and grabbed a whole bagful.

There you go. Saving hack, recycling hack and shopping hack all in one!”

Commenters were divided on this one and couldn’t decide whether the hack was “gross”, “genius” or even allowed.

“Can’t believe I didn’t think of this, no more juggling!” said one.

Another said: “Well done! Good share!”

Most though hated the thought of using a bag someone else had previously used to store God knows what.

“Eeeekkk – I don’t think I could use bags that I had no idea who used them last, or what was in them,” said one TikTok user. “Good idea though.”

“Would never put my stuff in someone else’s used bag. Who knows what’s in there!

“Rather will buy 15c bag. Doesn’t cost much.”

Said another: “I couldn’t use bags someone else has used.”

One said: “I like nothing more than other people’s stale shopping bags. The intoxicating smell of old BBQ chickens and spatters of blood from meat trays. And seafood!”

While some weren’t even sure this hack was allowed. “I didn’t think we could grab bags from there.”

“Are you allowed to do that? I mean it makes sense but maybe they don’t allow it.”

What do you think? Is this a hack you’re on board with?
