Doctor Bombay ‘Bewitched’ Actor Bernard Fox Dies Aged 89

Bewitched actor Bernard Fox has died aged 89. The much loved comedian died at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in California of heart failure.

Fox is perhaps best known as playing the part of Dr. Bombay, the cheeky womanising warlock on Bewitched from 1966 to 1972. He also appeared as Captain Winston Havlock in the 1999 movie The Mummy and in Titantic as Col. Archibald Gracie.

The fun loving Welsh actor retired from acting in 2004 but lent his voice to the Disney movie “The Rescuers” and its sequel “The Rescuers Down Under.” Fox also played the clumsy Col. Crittendon on Hogan’s Heroes through the late ’60s,

Fox came from a long line of performers and was the son of Queenie and Gerald Lawson, both of whom were stage actors.

The talented actor had acquired well over 100 television and film credits over the course of his career. He leaves behind his daughter Amanda and his wife Jacqueline, whom he married in 1961.
