The Not Quite Right House…

house cleansing

house cleansing

Have you ever walked into a house & felt all was not quite right? Did you feel uncomfortable or restless? Have you gone to an open inspection & been inclined to turn around & walk straight back out? If so than you have probably walked into a house that is haunted. So many houses contain spirits of those who have died but have not quite passed over completely. Old houses & new houses, offices, shops, car parks even, fourth dimensional energies are everywhere. They are family or friends that have passed but don’t want to leave or sometimes they are attached to the building or land.

For me our world is split into the physical world we can see & touch & the fourth dimensional spiritual world that can be glanced at out of the corner of my eye, a world covered in a veil.

A haunted house is very rarely like we see in the horror movies, more often than not lingering spirits are just loitering around, not sure what to do, where to go or how to get there. They are often trying to get our attention, moving our keys, invading our dreams, going bump in the night! Very rarely will they actually appear to the naked eye, but when they do it’s a sure fire sign that you have to send them away!

Sometimes that odd feeling can be confined to a single room in your house, if you are feeling uncomfortable in one of your rooms try sitting in the centre, light a candle or burn white sage incense. Meditating quietly, first & foremost ask for protection and guidance from the Angelic Realms then ask that any energies on the fourth dimensional plane be released from earth & return to Spirit. You can also try visualisation, imagine a tent of white light descending over your home. This can be very effective at releasing some spirits.

Sometimes more is required, I use a smudge stick, this is a bundle of dried white sage leaves, it leaves a trail of white smoke that helps expel earthbound spirits. Starting at the perimeter of the property work in an anti-clockwise direction, asking at any earthbound energies return to Spirit, reassure them that they have loved ones in Spirit waiting for them, tell them that is safe for them to move on. Using a feather move the smoke all around the area. I like to start outside & then make sure that every room in the house is “smudged”. When the ceremony is complete open all the doors & windows, this will both fill the rooms with positive energy & disperse the smoke. It is important to remember that they will not always want to return to Spirit, you can’t force a fourth dimensional energy to move on, you must respect them, treat them with dignity & try again in a couple of months.

Whenever I move into a new house I automatically go through a cleansing process, it also lifts the energy & I feel more comfortable & secure there straight away. I also cleanse any pieces of second hand furniture I buy.

For me a beautiful home is more than décor, true beauty lies in the energy of the house. When that energy is that of your family then you will feel happy, comfortable & content in your home.
