Aussie Mum Discovers Hack to Make Strawberries Last up to Three Weeks!
Australian farmers are currently dealing with an oversupply of strawberries which has seen the price of the humble berry plummet to ridiculously low prices. We’re all being encouraged to buy up big and one Aussie mum has discovered a way to make the much loved fruit last up to three weeks. You won’t believe how simple it is!
The Aussie mum shared her hack on a Facebook page which saves us throwing away punnets of strawberries that may go off before we get a chance to eat them.
Her tip is storing them in a glass jar. Yep, that’s it!
She said the simple hack had saved one punnet of strawberries from spoiling for three weeks.
“It took me 36 years to find out that if you put strawberries in glass jars, they last forever!” she wrote. “These ones, no word of a lie, are over three weeks old. I’m lucky if I get them to last five days before they start to turn when I buy them. I don’t know who else knows this trick, but if you don’t, you’re welcome.”
