Well it was the rumor that had us all guessing.
When Season 5 of Offspring ended it was all wrapped up in such a nice neat little bow that it left viewers asking if that was the end…
Channel 10 squashed those rumors by confirming that Offspring would indeed be back for Season 6.
It seems that Channel 10 and production company Endemol were buying time before announcing today that the series would not be returning.
Asher Keddie will be premiering her new series Party Tricks on Monday night on Channel 10.
In a statement released to the Guardian Channel 10 has advised ‘The clues have been there all along. When series five wrapped in August it felt like more than just a series finale. All the storylines were tied up. It felt like goodbye forever as Nina said to her one-year-old daughter on her birthday: “Yes, Zoe, this is your family. And it’s always going to be like this.”
But Ten’s chief programming officer, Beverley McGarvey, wasn’t conceding the dream was over: “We want Offspring to return in 2015. We are in discussions with the producers and they are, in turn, in discussions with the key creatives and cast.”‘
Although the news is sad we were all left feeling like the series 5 finale really tied up a lot of loose ends and no dramas to unlock with another season.
