Woman Takes Epic Selfie in the Birthing Suite!

Woman Takes Epic Selfie in the Birthing Suite!

Anytime is a good time for a selfie — even in the birthing suite!

Kat Armendariz from El Paso in Texas, posted a selfie to Imgur recently that had thousands of people in stitches. She took her selfie in the delivery room as her sister Kimberly was about to give birth.

SELFIE! While my sister is about to shove a baby out her vag!

Kat is a mother of five herself, so she absolutely understands what her sister is about to go through. You can almost see her thinking “Ha! Just glad it’s not me this time!” with glee.

But the best part about the selfie is her poor sister, looking comically distraught as she gets ready to, and we quote, “shove a baby out her vag!”

Kat copped some criticism in the comments section for being insensitive to her sister’s pain. Because of course she did. It wouldn’t be the internet if people kept their opinions to themselves, would it?

Happily though, Kat has a sense of humour and didn’t give a shit what anyone else thought.

The new aunt told Mashable, “She wasn’t in too much pain at first, so she thought it was pretty funny. I told her I was going to do it, she just started the oxytocin and the labour pains began almost instantly. She started to feel it and right when she was like, ‘Oh my god I can’t take this,’ I took the photo.”

We’re glad you did, Kat. Because it’s terribly funny. We’re happy it’s not us too.

And welcome to the world, baby Zayden!
