IKEA And LEGO Collaborate To Bring Us The Storage Solution Of Our Dreams!
As far as collaborations go, this one between LEGO and IKEA has been a long time coming in our opinion!
LEGO announced they’ll be partnering with Swedish furniture giant IKEA, to release a ‘revolutionary’ series of storage boxes, aiming to “encourage play and infuse more fun into storage around the home”.
Named the BYGGLEK range it will consist of a collection of storage products, equipped with LEGO studs which effectively means they can be used for building as well as storing those iconic plastic bricks.
“As the BYGGLEK boxes are equipped with LEGO studs on the top and the front, the storage boxes can be integrated as part of the LEGO builds,” a statement from the company read.
The studs in and around the boxes mean they can be integrated as part of the LEGO builds. This new BYGGLEK collection aims to allow for play in the homes well as helping to reduce clutter.
The range consists of four different products — one set of three small boxes and two sets of bigger boxes, and one set of LEGO bricks to help kids start their first design.
Andreas Fredriksson, designer at IKEA of Sweden, said she hopes the collaboration will help bring together tidiness and creativity. Plus it will greatly reduce the risk of parents stepping on a rogue LEGO piece in the middle of the night!
“At IKEA, we believe in the power of play. Play lets us explore, experiment, dream, and discover,” she said. “Where adults often see a mess, children see a stimulating, creative environment, and BYGGLEK will help bridge the gap between these two views to ensure more creative play in homes around the world.
“Plus, the BYGGLEK collection seamlessly fits in with other IKEA products, making it possible for your child’s creativity to become a unique piece of décor at home.”
The range will be available in Australian IKEA stores in early 2021. Can’t wait!
